The Chicago International Organ Academy is a unique educational initiative that strives to grow the next generation of organists around the world. Founder and Artistic Director Phillip Kloeckner approached me to edit an instructional video series demonstrating the foundational pedal and manual pipe organ techniques that would be taught through the academy’s new web-based curriculum.
Decades of teaching engagements, published writings, consultancies with organ builders and international performances inform Phillip’s approach to the art of organ playing and I was honored to be tasked with helping bring this production to life.
Filmed by the award-winning Chicago studio Bitter Jester Creative, our wonderful partners for this project, the curriculum produced 50+ hours of raw footage that I meticulously parsed and condensed into the final 12-part, 6+ hour program of studies. Along the way, I also cut a warm welcome video to introduce prospective students to the Academy.
